Literature Text

Gazing up to the stars
I recall all of my songs,
my words, my most sincere respect
All for you, Eros, for your love
that one day it may be brought to me.
Yet here under your heavens
I am standing alone!
Is it that my passion vexes you,
or that your passion refuses to vex me?
Please, if you will not grant me Love,
may you at least answer me?
My mind is beginning to phase me.
My pen is beginning to fail me.
If no longer I write songs in your name
then I shall stop writing them altogether.
A poem I wrote a couple years ago after many nights of reading Goethe's wonderful poetry. The poem is pretty self-explicit: a cry, or even curse, to Eros, the Greek God of Love, for having not blessed one with the benefits, beauty, and glory of Love.
